This is the image I took for my front cover. Through taking it on a white background, I was easily able to place text and images on the front cover without any interference. Also, leaving room where the masthead will be placed so it is easier to place on. The model has a posed facial expression to show the professionalism of the photograph. As the model is looking directly at the camera, she is making direct eye contact with the audience and will attract the readers to read the magazine.
This image is the same one as above, but edited using Photoshop. I decided to enhance the image and make it brighter so it appears brighter and will stand out on the front cover. Through doing this, it also maximises the appearance of the shadow and creating a bolder and more realistic image. I also cropped the image to make it more appropriate for the size of the front cover.
This is one of the images I planned to use on my contents page. However, I did not choose to use this particular photograph as the lighting was too bright when uploaded onto the computer. To resolve this, I took sevseral photographs so I was able to choose the best one, I changed the angle and position of the lighting in order to create a more clear and professional image. Also, natural light was captured from the right hand side. This was unintentional as I hoped for the background to be completely black.
This is another image I took and has been edited. The light on this image is not as harsh, making it a clearer image overall. Also, I placed another board to the right so natural light was not in the shot.
This is one of the images I chose to place in the contents page to advertise the article on the double page spread. I chose to place the model on a white background for a more professional look and to make it stand out between the other two images either side of it. The model is looking directly at the camera to attract the audience and make them interested in the celebrity which will then persuade them to focus on the double page spread. I edited the photo and made it brighter as the original image was duller and didn't stand out very much. Through brightening the image, it made it appear more professional and a better finish overall.
This is one of the images I took which I may have used for my double page spread. Although I did not plan to use it, I had the idea to try a shot like this as it also suited the article I had previously written. Overall, I went against this shot as I had not left room for the text to be placed. Also, I believed that this image did not look as natural as another I had taken which followed my plan.
This is the shot I used for my double page spread. I chose this as it looks more natural and professional in comparison to the previous image I considered using. I left enough room to the text to be placed so overall, this image was more appropriate to use. I used Photoshop to edit the photo and make it brighter so the text would contrast the light background.
